An active exploration programme is under way at and around existing
Aquarius Platinum South African operations, with the main focus being on the southern parts of the eastern Bushveld Complex. Greenfields exploration is being conducted at Zondernaam, Chieftains Plain and Walhalla with brownfields exploration being undertaken at Hoogland and Vygenhoek in the vicinity of Everest. These projects and prospects combined have the potential to contribute PGM resources of a minimum of 88Moz, as recorded in Aquarius Platinum's Resources and Reserves Statement 2009.
Aquarius also obtained a 39% interest in the Sheba's Ridge project as part of the Ridge Mining transaction. It is a sulphide mineral resource potentially containing 1.4Mt of nickel and 21Moz of PGMs.
Chieftains Plain and Walhalla are located in the southern portion of the eastern limb of the Bushveld Complex.
Zondernaam is situated in the north of the eastern limb while the Townlands prospect is contiguous with the Kroondal mine.
